As we promised two days ago, when we presented the first official pictures, we are back with supplementary information and specifications about the Volkswagen Golf VI. Here we go …..

Passengers can now enjoy a new positioning  o the controls for power windows and the mirrors, an automatic A/C system borrowed from the Passat CC and better quality material. German engineers have declared that they took elements from the older brother especially to create the impression a superior car than any other from it`s class. Neither safety has not been forgotten, the new model being equipped with knee airbags, and visual signs of wearing the seat-belt, even for the rear-seat passengers.

Every model will be equipped with a new ESP system, which occurs more sublime and more efficient on the car`s behavior, in part similar to the one found on the Golf 5, on which`s technical platform it`s based.

Regarding the engines, the diesel ones ( because they present the greatest interest ), the new Volkswagen Golf 6 will be available with two 2.0 L TDI engines, both with common-rail, with 110 and 140 HP. Fuel consumptions of 4.5 , and 4.9 L/100km represent an improvement of 0.6 liters, compared with equivalent engines found on the older generation. Also, two more diesel versions , of 90 and 170 HP will be launched in the next years.

Regarding the gasoline engines, two 80 and 120 HP , and two turbo versions, of 1.4 L , worth 122 and 160 HP. With the exception of entry models, all other will be available with a double-clutch DSG gearbox, with 6 or 7 gears, depending on the engine`s torque. German engineers are proud that, for example, the new propellant of 160 CP coupled with a DSG gearbox. obtains a reduction of 2.3 litres in the average consumption , thus reaching 6 liters / 100 km compared with the old Golf FSI 2.0 coupled with a classic automatic gearbox.

Sales will begin in October and the base price will be 16,500 euros.
