Future model Prius has been caught in testing, Japanese are confident that they can maintain supremacy in this sector.
After more than one million electric cars and a perfect image, the Prius is approaching with fast steps to a new generation.
Scheduled to appear in 2010, the car will discard the solution with heavy NiMh batteries and will be put in motion by some Li-Ion, easier and more powerful ones.This means that the car will be faster, but will have an increased autonomy and a lower fuel consumption.
And that’s not all. The future body-work will be bigger, providing an increased space for the passengers in the rear seats, and a bigger trunk, and not excluded, additional models, like a coupe or a break for example. The launch of the future Toyota Prius will take place in about two years.
