Nissan’s GT-R has won one of Japan’s most coveted awards. The impressive sports car scooped Most Advanced Technology Award at the Car of the Year Japan Awards 2008 - 2009. Citing the GT-R, the Executive Commitee declared :
“As a supercar that delivers powerful performance and clean emission, featuring an advanced new body structure combining carbon, aluminium and steel, in addition to its impressive dual-clutch transmission and the world’s first independent transaxle 4WD”.
There is no doubt that 353kW GT-R has caused major waves since its launch on Japan’s auto market almost a year ago. US deliveries began in July, while Europe will follow next spring, with certain African countries lined up for the third quarter of 2009.

Incoming irrational hate, endless bickering about ZR1 is better, and how the GT-R is overhyped.
GT-R deserves it imo, as does the A5, which is such a nice looking coupe.
